Sparks Paraphrase

I work with the Awana Sparks (K-2) at our church each Wednesday night. During handbook time, some kids need more help than others to say their verses. The technique I often use is just to have them repeat small parts of the verse over and over and then put it all together. One little boy gave me two "don't laugh!" challenges right in a row. I told him to repeat after me: And that he was buried . . . And that he was buried alive . . . As we worked on the next verse, I asked him to repeat the reference first: James 2:10 Jane 2:10. Really a sweet kid; he only comes every other week because he's at mom's one week and dad's the next. I don't think he works on the verses at home, but he's always eager to learn one that night!

Too precious...."God's word goes forth and does not return unto Him void." Someday that little boy will understand those verses and be ever thankful for the patient Awana leader who was there to love him and help him learn! Keep up the good work!
Love, Mom
