Awesome sledding

We went sledding at Woodpecker Hill in Pinicon Ridge Park after church on Super Bowl Sunday. It was a beautiful, sunny day; warm enough that we could just have fun without getting really cold, but not so warm that the snow was messy and melty. Several other families from church met us there, which only added to the fun. Everyone cheered when the little kids made it all the way down the hill without wiping out, when the big boys tried to snowboard and when there was a particularly spectacular crash. The kids did learn not to walk right back up the middle of the hill. :) I only went down twice on a sled--it's been several years since I've been sledding, and this time I felt so much more fragile than I ever did before. Tate did get a little tired of walking back up the hill with his sled, but he was having so much fun he didn't complain too much.

It made me more than a little nervous at first to watch my LITTLE boys careen so swiftly down that BIG hill! They, however, were fearless.

We made it home in time to catch the beginning of the Super Bowl, and the Gardners came over for pizza. They left before the game was over; I put our kids to bed, and Glen went to work, so I ended up watching the end of the game by myself. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but it was definitely entertaining! It was a great day.
