Cakes and Candles

Britta's cousin Chelsea is 2 years and 2 days older than her. We usually celebrate their birthdays together with Glen's side of the family. Here they are just before they blew out each other's candles. They were pretty proud of themselves. When the cake was cut, they each wanted their initial. These pieces of cake were about 6"x6". HUGE! Here they are after eating their cake--Chelsea barely touched hers, and Britta barely has any left. She did let the boys eat a little bit of the frosting, and about an hour later, she finished it. :)
All Chase talked about from the minute he first saw the cake was eating it. I was helping dish up the ice cream, and he wanted me to cut his cake up into little pieces. I told him he had to wait until I was done, and I guess he got tired of waiting.

OK, this next picture is of me on my birthday. Britta had just blown out MY candles. :) She blew them out quickly just before the end of "Happy Birthday."And this is Britta on her birthday, paranoid that someone is going to blow out HER candles!
By the way, I made the cake, and I made the frosting too runny. Britta didn't care, because she got to decorate it herself. Then, proud of herself, that she blew out her own candles, just before we were done singing to her.
She received two horse calendars, three different horses, a horse book, a horse bag, and some art supplies. Notice a theme there? We love you, Britta!
