Samantha is 9!

Sammy's birthday was May 12. I made her strawberry shortcake for breakfast. I usually make the kids something special for their birthday breakfast, but I completely forgot this year until she woke me up asking what I was going to make for her. I happened to have strawberry shortcake biscuits in the fridge, along with strawberries and whipped cream. She had a fun day at school--her teacher gave her a big crown to wear all day--but because of Britta's violin lesson right after school, she had to wait until AFTER her softball practice was over to open her presents. She did pray the night before that Britta's lesson would be cancelled, but that was the only thing close to complaining that I heard. :) We had one of her favorites for supper, Turkey Provolone Sandwiches (which she can make herself, but she didn't this time).

Finally, after practice she got to open her gifts. She also had the (almost normal for us now) paranoia that Someone Else would blow out her candles for her.

She liked all of her gifts, but this shirt was my favorite:

The story behind the shirt is--maybe a month ago, Glen was wearing a sweatshirt that had the logo "IOU" on it. Sammy asked him what it stood for, and he said he had no idea. She said, "They should make a shirt that has IHNI on it, then when someone asks you what it stands for, you could just say, 'I have no idea!' " So I made her one. I think she had forgotten about it, because when she opened it, she asked "What does IHNI stand for?" and we were able to answer "I have no idea!!"

I need a couple of those t-shirts. I think they could go global.
