Fun Evening

Last night I took the kids to Go Fish concert in Cedar Falls. They all had a blast, even Britta. She had not really wanted to go, but as we listened to the music before we went, she started making up motions to the songs and singing along. By the time we left, she hadn't complained all day. :) About the concert, anyway--she is at That Age. :) It was great to see the boys having so much fun. During the song Superstar, the guys walked the aisles giving kids high 5's, and since we were sitting on an aisle, they all got one. Like the musical, I just sat there watching them with a big smile on my face.
Intermission was another story. I was going to buy them t-shirts, and we were waiting in line. I asked the girls to each keep an eye on one boy and just keep them close. Bad idea! The boys took off, the girls were chasing them, and I had to get out of the line which really hadn't seemed to move in 10 minutes anyway. I didn't end up buying t-shirts . . . until during one of the songs after intermission. :) Britta and Sammy wanted to stay after and get autographs, but I could not have done that with the boys, so we headed home.

Glen left for Wyoming yesterday to snowmobile in the mountains. He called me after he left and told me not to drive north on our road when I went to Cedar Falls because I wouldn't make it through. So I went south and around on the paved roads. I only had to drive through a few drifts which the kids thought was great fun because snow flew up on the windshield.
This morning, the snowplow came through, so I knew I could go to Independence the normal way since Chase broke his glasses last night (first time since he got them!), and we also needed some groceries. When I pulled out of the garage, I noticed that the J's van was parked in the road (they are the ones who board horses at our place and come over several times a day to take care of them). Since I don't clear our driveway on a regular basis, I didn't even think that the plow would have plowed the driveway closed. Luckily, it was low enough on one side that I blasted through. :) I did shovel the little bit that was left when I got home (after walking everywhere trying to find the snow shovel and finally finding it next to the front door)--just enough to drive the van through though; nothing crazy! So as long as there is no more blowing I'll be OK. We have a circle drive, and there is a 2-3 foot drift all along the other opening. I'll leave that one for Glen. :)
