Of course, this would happen!

OK, so yesterday when I was looking around outside for the snow shovel, as I walked by our horses Cinnamon ran up to me like she was my best friend. I checked, and their food and water were gone. I decided to go ahead and feed/water them because I knew Britta wouldn't be home right after school because of her violin lesson. I normally do nothing with these horses except for once a year when Glen is on his snowmobile trip, and this year Britta is old enough that she's taking care of them. I won't bore you with the explanation of HOW it happened, but one of the horses (Kimmy) got out. She didn't go very far; just to the other side of the feeder to eat the hay that had blown out there. I tried to call her, then I prayed. Next, I tried putting more hay in the feeder, but Buckshot and Cinnamon just started eating, and more blew out for Kimmy. :) So I called Britta at school. She suggested I come get her. When I told her no, she told me to get some grain in a tub and put that inside the fence and Kimmy would go right in. If that didn't work, she recommended putting a rope around her neck and leading her in. I stood at the basement door and got the rope, just in case. I prayed again that I would be able to get her back inside the fence without having to call someone to help me. When I opened the door to go out, Kenji shot out from behind me (I didn't even know he was there). So now I had a horse and a dog loose with Glen many many miles away. Anyway, the grain trick worked like a charm and the dog ran around for a little while but came to me when I bribed him with a treat. In Sunday School we were talking about how as you get older, fewer things seem to constitute a crisis. I didn't really consider this a crisis, but I admit I was a little anxious.

I was kind of excited that I wouldn't have to go anywhere today except to pick the kids up from school, but Chase handed me his broken glasses this morning. Did I mention that yesterday was the first time we'd ever had to have his glasses repaired? So we went to the eye doctor for the second time in two days to have Chase's glasses fixed this morning.

Typical Fults day. At least it wasn't the ER!
