This might be long . . .

I've had it on my list to update the blog for a while now, so there's a lot to talk about. Last weekend was BUSY with the musical and Glen's birthday. We also invited a couple of families over to watch the Super Bowl, so the house had to be clean. There was also a carry-in dinner after church Sunday, so I had to get up early and cook food that could be kept warm all morning. We've been eating leftovers all week, and though I'm getting a little bored with them, it's been kind of nice.
The musical was so much fun to watch. The boys were adorable in their sheep costumes. I just realized I don't have a great picture of them, so I'll make sure to take another one before I return the costumes. Britta did an excellent job, and so did the rest of the cast. I felt sorry for them on Friday night because they were having microphone problems and it was difficult to hear the soloists. Saturday night was so much better, even though Friday night was still good. I am usually pretty reserved, but I just sat and watched with a huge smile on my face.

Britta is getting her makeup done--she had a cute penciled-in beard. They had to make it obvious that she was supposed to be a boy, since most of the brothers were played by girls. Chase is waiting for his turn. The boys thought it was fun to get stage makeup, but it was hard to keep them from touching their faces when it was done. Luckily, I got good advice on getting it off of the borrowed sheep costumes!

Britta looks jealously at Joseph's amazing technicolor dreamcoat. :)She did such a great job singing her solo, "One More Angel in Heaven." I did make a video, but I guess because of copyright laws, I can't post it. I did put it on my Palm this afternoon though, so you can bet I'll be showing her off. :)

The boys were so cute for their curtain call. On the first night, Chase got away from the mama sheep after his bow, and he ran around the stage clapping for the kids as they came out. We finally got him corralled backstage.Britta is a little sad that the musical is over. She truly enjoyed every bit of it. I think it will be the first of many productions that she'll be a part of.

Glen's birthday was Sunday, so I made his cake to have after church (yes, after the potluck where we all ate at least one dessert!). Apparently, the blowing out the candles competition in our family is not over.

Oh, I also made him this card last week. It's actually a new Creative Memories paper album (called For Him) that was one of my freebies from regionals the weekend before. I thought it would be perfect with black and white photos, and since Glen gave me a $50 budget for his birthday gifts, it wouldn't even have to count since it was free! I was a good girl and I did count the cost of having the pictures printed.Everything you see is included in the kit, except I did use a Quickutz die to cut the photo corners.

I forgot to change the format to small when I uploaded the second batch of pictures. This post has taken me so long already; I'm not doing it over!

He said he liked it, and I believe him. :)

We had a huge snowstorm Tuesday night and Wednesday. The girls had school, but no one else did, so music lessons and Awana were cancelled. I did not get a lot accomplished beyond the bare necessities other than to somehow get our computer to crash. Luckily, Glen was able to get everything working again after a couple of hours on the phone, and I backed up my pictures. What a relief! I'm pledging that I will make backup CDs of my pictures every time I clear my memory card. I will also get my pictures edited, uploaded and printed more often. Don't think this won't happen to you! I was lucky.

Glen took the snowmobile to pick up the girls from school today. We usually carpool with the Gardners and bring Blake home in the afternoon, so Chad went along too. Can you imagine how great it would feel to have your dad show up at school on a snowmobile to give you a ride home? I think it's pretty fun for the dads too.

Glen leaves Sunday morning with some of the neighbors for a snowmobile trip to Wyoming. He is just a little excited. :) The kids and I are going to see Go Fish in Cedar Falls on Sunday evening. Everyone is excited about that except Britta, and I'm sure she'll enjoy herself anyway.

I think that's enough for tonight!
