It is absolutely amazing to watch the news and see the pictures and video of the Cedar Rapids flood. The water has moved to within a few blocks of my parents' house, and it's unbelieveable to see intersections I've driven through thousands of times completely underwater.
We were just at the Science Station and library in CR on Tuesday, and now they have 7 feet of water in them. I just can't imagine the property damage and cleanup. Please pray that the one remaining water pump in Cedar Rapids is able to stay running; if that were to go, it would compound the problems incredibly.
There is a lot of water in Independence too, but it looks like the river level there is beginning to recede. Only one bridge has been closed there.
Many people we know and love have been affected all over Iowa. I was thankful yesterday at work to be able to get an override from a customer's insurance company to fill a prescription that had already been filled but not picked up yet in Vinton, which is also underwater.
We have had a lot of water out in the country too; many crops will be lost. The road south of our house has been closed several times due to water over the road. I have to be optimistic and thankful that no lives have been lost so far. It will be a long recovery process.

That is a first. An accommodating insurance company! Good job Mrs. Pharmacist :) Hope all is still well in your neck of the woods. We are loving our 3rd day of sunshine :)
