Mileage

It's been a busy week! Saturday, we traveled to MN for Sage's 3rd birthday party. Everyone had fun, especially with the squirt guns! The kids enjoyed staying overnight in the hotel. Sunday we spent the day with Glen's aunt and a couple of his cousins and their families. It was a treat to catch up with everyone. On Monday, I took Britta and her friend to East Iowa Bible Camp for 5th grade week. She was so excited; she barely gave me a hug when I left. I have been a good mom and (tried to) sent her mail every day. However, one letter came back because of the candy Sammy wanted to send her, and today for some reason the mail carrier didn't take the outgoing mail from the mailbox. So she will get one letter from me (and her friend will have received a card from me before Britta got anything!). Oh well! On Tuesday I had to work, and Wednesday I took Tate to Marshalltown for a follow-up appointment after his eye surgery. The doctor said they are perfect! PTL! Then we met Glen at Coralville and spent the afternoon on the lake. Tate was not allowed to swim, but he did fall in once while filling up the squirt gun. As we were leaving, there were tornado warnings for Linn and Johnson Counties, so we waited in a Casey's for a while before heading home. We got home about 15 minutes after our power came back on. I worked all day today; then we went to the neighbor's to swim after I got home. So the kids were in bed by about 9:30. I've done the dishes, and I have about 4 loads of laundry to fold before I go to bed, which is why pictures of the last few days will have to wait . . .

I don't envy your tornado warnings but the boat sounds like a blast! How far from home do you have to travel to get it in water?

Addie just went on her first tube ride a few weekends ago in Lake Minnetonka and she LOVED it! :) Check the blog for pics...
