Tate's eye surgery this morning went "perfectly," according to the doctor. His surgery didn't start at 7:30 am as scheduled, but be were still leaving the outpatient surgery center shortly after 9am. PTL! Tonight, we had a hard time with the eye drops, but I explained that the braver he is, the faster everything will go (and I told him he could have a quarter each time he was brave). His eyes are sore, so he's been having tylenol, and getting babied a little by Mom! :) I also laid in his bed with him until he fell asleep--don't know if I've ever done that before!
Last night, we went swimming at the hotel right after checking in, since Tate won't be able to swim for a couple of weeks now. We tried to teach Tate to come up for a breath, but like his daddy, he prefers swimming "underwater." Tate says he's swimming underwater, but unlike Glen, he DOES have natural buoyancy, so he actually swims along the top with his face in. We tried to teach him to lift up his head to breathe, but that's going to take a bit more work. After swimming, we went to the Jordan Creek mall (huge! of course, the stores weren't open any more) for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. There was also live music outside, and surprise--fireworks! Of course, we stayed. Tate really enjoyed them, and I think overall he's enjoyed a few days without his siblings, though he did say, "I've got to tell Britta and Sammy and Chase about this!"
