Our first horse show

Britta entered her first 4H horse show at the Buchanan County Fair. It was a learning experience. There was some frustration, but overall, she was happy with the way things went.

Britta standing in the judging line with Kimmy. By the way, the judge looks just like my district manager from the back. I did email her to ask if they are related, but I haven't heard back yet. Anyway, Britta didn't place well in this class because Kimmy was limping. It was a problem Glen and Britta had been dealing with and had thought she was OK.

Britta competed in the trail class with Rinnka and did OK. Trail class consists of several different "obstacles"--such as opening a gate, riding through, and closing a gate, riding over a bridge, backing the horse through some rails on the ground, etc. We were all proud of Britta because Rinnka went right over this bridge--many of the other horses refused to do so because they could see their shadow on it. Britta is again being judged in the Novice Horse Rider Pleasure class--she won!
Britta's trophy (at least, the top of it):
