The kids wanted to go outside first thing this morning, but it was only 2 degrees, so I told them to wait until Glen got up so that their stuff would be dry for the snowmobile ride they were all anticipating. They waited patiently all morning, and by the time Glen was ready, it was a balmy 11 degrees. :) Chase rode with Glen on the snowmobile, and the other three rode on the sled. The girls enjoy falling off the sled too, but Tate doesn't. One of the times he fell off, he got snow in his face (behind the lenses of his glasses) and another time he lost a mitten. His poor hand looked so cold! I was all bundled up, but I got cold quickly since I was just standing around watching and doing the occasional cleanup. Chase's cheeks were really red when I told Glen it was time for the boys to come it. Glen was glad, because he wasn't dressed as warmly as he usually is for riding the snowmobile.
It doesn't seem that long ago that Sammy always wanted to ride the "snowmoybile." :)
Chase has said some things lately that make him sound so grown up:
I can't remember the circumstances, but his answer was, "the door that leads to the garage!"
When I asked him where his glasses were, he said, "I slipped them off while I was watching TV."
Tonight at supper (excitedly), "I put a pea in my nose!" Thankfully, it was only one pea, and he was able to blow it out. It actually hit me, but under the circumstances I wasn't upset.
We got more snow this afternoon, and more is forecasted for tomorrow. The only problem is that we are supposed to go to Ames for a Christmas production at Cornerstone that Holly helped write and direct and in which Eric has a starring role. Holly said Eric's head is shaved to look like male pattern baldness, and I couldn't wait to see it! Plus, their productions are wondeful. I was so looking forward to it, but Glen has mentioned several times that it doesn't look good for going to Ames. I trust his judgment, but if we don't go, I know where he will be . . .
