Tate is FIVE!

OK, so I missed a day on the Holidaily--I had good intentions anyway. :)

Tate's birthday was yesterday, and he had a great time. He and Chase have had a lot of fun playing with his new toys. Everyone at the party had fun playing with his new toys too. It's always fun to watch adults and teenagers with kids' toys.

Since Grandma was unable to be at the party (she is in CT babysitting Sage and Kolby and called twice--I could tell she was hating to miss), I am posting two videos.

In the morning with his birthday cinnamon roll. He asked if we could skip church, but I told him they'd probably sing Happy Birthday to him. After the kids' song, Tate asked if he could sit in the front row of the choir section while everyone sang to him. My son is not shy! He's just a little excited about the presents. :)

He liked his tractor cake--I got the pan at Wal-Mart. We bought frosting in an easy-cheese-like can that was pretty hard to use. It was too hard for me to control while pushing hard enough to make the frosting come out, so Glen decorated the cake. I also tried a new cake recipe that tastes like egg nog. It really did!

We are so thankful for Tate and the 5 years God has given us with him.

My only holiday preparation yesterday was working on my Christmas cards during the Survivor finale. Glen and I both thought Courtney would win, but we were wrong. :) My bet for the favorite from this season who will be in the next season's Superfans vs. Superfavorites is James.

I will work on the cards again tonight. I also may order a couple more gifts online.

I tried a new recipe for supper tonight--sausage manicotti. Tate asked me if I made it with the dog's throwup. Then he asked me if I would please never make it again. He asked me to feed it to him. Once he finally finished it (so that he could have some ice cream), he told me, "That stuff that looks like dog throwup was pretty good. I liked it."

I remember someone else comparing dinner to dog food! Or at least, I remember the story!

Thanks Mindy for the videos and pictures. Dad had told me how fun it was that Chase was as excited as Tate - so very cute! I think he definitely looks older!
Praising God with you for his precious life, Mom
