Chase in his new glasses--they have not been broken yet! He does have times when he takes them off and rubs his eyes, refusing to put them back on. One time I was very glad. I took all of the kids shopping last Friday night because Britta really needed clothes. Chase had been sitting in the cart while she was trying things on, and he decided he didn't want to wear his glasses anymore. I decided this shopping trip had not been a lot of fun for him, so I let it go. When we were at the checkout, I tried putting the glasses back on him, and he let me. Britta said, "Mom! I left my glasses in the dressing room!" She doesn't wear hers all the time, so who knows when we would have realized they were gone. God was watching out for Britta's glasses. :)The girls had their school Christmas program last night. It was so good! There are 13 kids in the elementary, and they all memorize the Luke 2 passage and recite it, with songs every few verses. The 4-6 graders also learn another passage; this year it was from Isaiah. I always came away from their Christmas programs at the public school feeling like it was all wrong. All the songs about Santa and presents are fun, but I love the traditional Christmas carols. I have enjoyed the Christmas programs so much more since the girls started attending a Christian school. Glen videotaped the whole thing, including the older choir. One girl fainted during the last song (And the Glory of the Lord from the Messiah). The kids around her caught her and helped her dad got her off the stage, and they never stopped singing! Knowing that she's fine, it's kind of fun to watch. :)
I decided that at least for the month of December, I will eat oatmeal for breakfast every morning except Saturdays. I usually make Swedish pancakes or waffles for the kids then. Anyway, I make the oatmeal in the microwave with milk and add a lot of cinnamon. It's not very good, but it's eatable, and it keeps me full all morning.
I have my Christmas letter written, and I designed and ordered the picture card this morning. If I can get copies made of the letter and then buy, address, and stamp the envelopes before the cards arrive, I might set a personal best for getting Christmas cards in the mail! I've decided I'd like to have all of my creative projects (including cards) done by Tate's birthday on the 16th. Then all I have to worry about after that (besides the usual) is getting the house ready for company and wrapping gifts. I'll let you know how it works out.

So cute! They kind of look like twins.
Do you want to write my letter as part of your creative stuff?
Actually, the first Sunday that Chase wore his glasses to church, the boys were wearing matching outfits. One woman pointed at Chase and said, "Didn't he used to have red hair?"
